Three Sistahs
My Work So Far
About Me
My natural hair journey has been a profound evolution of self-love and embracing authenticity. I grew up with processed hair, but by the time I reached senior year in high school, I felt done with the harmful chemicals. That's when I made the courageous decision to do a big chop. It wasn’t just about changing my hairstyle; it was about reclaiming my identity and learning to love myself beyond societal norms, especially as a black woman where hair often carries heavy significance.
As my hair began to grow back, I made a commitment to use safe and healthy products, nurturing my hair naturally. During college, I decided to transition to traditional locks, seeking a lower-maintenance routine that allowed my hair to exist in its natural state. Those locks became a statement of confidence and a deeper connection to my roots, shaping my identity for three fulfilling years.
Eventually, I opted for sister locks, driven by their versatility and sustainability. They offered me the freedom to style my hair however I wanted, without feeling restricted by frequent retwists. Four years into my sister locks journey now, I can confidently say that I’ve never been happier with my hair. This style has become an integral part of me, reflecting my journey toward self-love and authenticity.
